Creativity can be a powerful pathway to healing, Killeen Creators is proud to partner with the HH/Killeen Vet Center to offer Therapeutic Art Journaling on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, from 1-3 PM. Through painting, collage, writing, and other creative techniques, participants explore emotions, process experiences, build resilience, and connect with others in a welcoming, trauma-informed environment.
No artistic experience is necessary. It’s about expression, not perfection! We’re grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to create space for veterans to explore, connect, and grow through art. COMMUNITY GARDENSWhat Should We Do in Our Gardens in November?
Now that we are in the middle of Fall we want to continue maintaining our gardens and think about any winter crops! If you plan to have strawberries inside your garden this is your last chance to plant them! By mid-November you should be planting your bulbs of garlic and onions. Inside of our gardens we want to focus on controlling any pests that might harm our plants. Some to look out for is aphids on the brassica family and squash bugs on any remaining squash plants inside the garden. Happy Gardening! ~ AmeriCorps Member, 10th Street Garden Lead Garden Rundown
Everyone is welcome to come to all of our gardens to harvest what's ready. If you aren’t sure what's ready you can ask an AmeriCorps Member or Staff that is present! What is available and ready varies day to day, season to season. Come on by to check out what we have! Garden Workdays There is a change in time for our workdays as the colder weather is rolling in! If you’ve been interested in helping in the gardens or interested in learning how our garden works, come to our garden workdays!
